Liquor Laws

The minimum age for buying and consuming alcoholic beverages in Canada is 19. Individuals can purchase alcoholic beverages from the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) which carry a variety of wines, beer and spirits. Beer and ales can also be purchased from the Beer Store. There are also several wineries in the area that sell specialty wines directly to the public. Most of these establishments are open 7 days a week until 5 pm, and some have extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays.

The consumption of alcohol in restaurants and bars is allowed between the hours of 11 am to 2 am Monday through Saturday and from noon to 2 am on Sundays.

Please note it is prohibited in Canada for individuals to have open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle or in public places. Operating a motor vehicle, including boats, while under the influence of alcohol is illegal in Canada.
