Liquor Laws
The minimum age for buying and consuming alcoholic beverages in Canada is 19. Individuals can purchase alcoholic beverages from the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario) which carry a variety of wines, beer and spirits. Beer and ales can also be purchased from the Beer Store. There are also several attractions/wineries”title=”niagara wineries” >wineries in the area that sell specialty wines directly to the public. Most of these establishments are open 7 days a week until 5 pm, and some have extended hours on Thursdays and Fridays.
The consumption of alcohol in dining/”title=”niagara restaurants” >restaurants and bars is allowed between the hours of 11 am to 2 am Monday through Saturday and from noon to 2 am on Sundays.
Please note it is prohibited in Canada for individuals to have open alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle or in public places. Operating a motor vehicle, including boats, while under the influence of alcohol is illegal in Canada.
