Located high on the Beamsville bench, Desousa Wine Cellars combines old-world European tradition and new world winemaking techniques to craft truly distinctive wines. Family owned and operated, the winery honours its Portuguese heritage by creating traditional Portuguese style wines. The modern two-storey winery also honours the family’s Portuguese heritage with its distinctive design. It’s flat red roofline, and wrought-iron balconies lend this white villa a Southern-European flair, which is also carried through to the winery’s boutique and tasting room.
De Sousa Winery also produces a number of premium wines including Chardonnay, Riesling, Vidal, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Icewine, along with ruby style port wines. The winery offers its guests tours and tastings of its award-winning premium wines. Be sure to ask for your tastings of red wine in a red clay cup, which is the traditional way to serve red wine in Portugal.
